Centre for Legal Empowerment has launched a series of informative trainings as part of the “Vepro@Mjedisin: Active youth for a green European Albania” project.
During the months of September and October, the Centre for Legal Empowerment will conduct a series of trainings with students where the focus will be on legislation on environmental issues, with the main purpose of informing and raising awareness about environmental protection in the legal framework.
The first training, with the theme, “The right of communities and non-profit organizations to address in court cases of environmental damage”, took place on Thursday, September 15 in the premises of the Faculty of Political and Legal Sciences at “Aleksandër Moisiu” University “Durres
This first training, held by Dr. Dorina Ndreka (Asllani) made a presentation of the right to address environmental issues in court, following with some concrete cases where civil society has followed the legal path to protect the environment.
During this first activity, a great interest was noticed by the participants to learn about this issue, about which they expressed that they do not have much information.
The training continued on Friday, September 16, with the second part on “Cases from practices of environmental damage from the construction of hydropower plants”. During this second training, the young people had the opportunity to discuss with Dr. Dorina Ndreka (Asllani) on environmental issues from everyday life. Dr. Ndreka (Asllani) after presenting cases which she herself has followed in court, such as the case of the hydropower plant in Zall-Gjocaj, elaborated together with the participants on environmental issues from their everyday life and how they can commit to solving them.
Future trainings will take place at the premises of the Faculty of Law at the University of Tirana, where all those interested are invited to participate and discuss with the trainers on the upcoming topics.

This project is being developed within the Tirana European Youth Capital 2022 program with the financial support of the National Youth Congress in cooperation with the Municipality of Tirana.

This program brings new opportunities, positive changes, encourages active participation, promotes European identity, diversity, and inclusion, transforming the city into an international meeting point for young people.
