On Monday, March 6th, at the CLE offices, the executive director of this center, Av. Franc Terihati conducted a training with students of the Faculty of Law at the University of Tirana, where he presented the importance of strategic litigation in the legal empowerment of individuals and communities. The training was organized in cooperation with the student organization ELSA, European Law Student Association of Albania, who were also present at this meeting.
During the meeting, the main elements of legal empowerment were presented, such as advocacy and litigation, illustrating them with different cases followed by CLE, on environmental rights, rights at work, the right for property protection, etc.
The participants showed a great interest in these cases, expressing that strategic litigation is a new concept for them, on which they have not received much knowledge in the faculty auditoriums. “To see closely concrete cases of strategic litigation in aid of communities is very inspiring for future lawyers and law students like us” – said one of the participants.
At the end of this meeting, CLE and ELSA representatives announced that in the future, other trainings will be held on various legal topics.
